The Art of Zannah

Doodles

Been dealing with a lot of wrist issues holding me back, though my stabilizer brace seems to be helping. I’ve added a couple of notebook doodles I’ve managed recently to my personal gallery, and I’m slowly attempting work on my commission backlog. I haven’t forgotten, it’s just hard to work when you want your arm to either stop hurting or fall off.

Stretching a Cross Stitch

Recorded the process of stretching a cross stitch for framing today. I spent a few years working as a professional picture framer, and it’s still something I enjoy doing. Realized the actual fiddly bits can be something of a mystery to most folks, and all that work is invisible once the frame is together. There’s no sound in this video, and the footage has been sped up 8x.

RIP Dusty

My sweet boy is gone, and I am shattered. He was the best kitty and he tried so hard. We had a little hope because he’d rallied a bit and started eating again earlier last week, but the past 48 hours he went downhill fast. He was my baby for 14.5 years, and I miss him. I’m just glad he’s not hurting anymore. ;_;

Slow Progress

It’s been a rough couple of months here. I’ve been slogging through my third cold of the winter season, and the nagging cough that came along with it. Just as I got my feet under my, my oldest cat’s heath took a turn for the worst, so that’s been eating a lot of my attention. I expect we’ll lose him in under a week, so I’m giving him as much love as I can while he’s still with us.

Even at 14.5, Dusty’s still a love bug.

I appreciate folks patience while we go through this. Even when you know it’s coming, it hurts to lose any of your furry kids. =( On the art front, I’ve got a colored sketch from my remaining MFF commissions posted, and a couple more in progress. I’ve also submitted another piece to a zine, so that’s something.
